Professional Experience
I have been designing gardens to complement both traditional and contemporary Southern homes for over twenty years. I began working for Greensboro landscape architect Dennis Mullane and after two years opened my own design studio. I’ve maintained my own practice as well as working on projects in collaboration with renowned garden designer Chip Callaway.
Education
My undergraduate studies at Dartmouth College focused on Art History and Greek and Roman Archaeology. After trying my hand at a variety of professions, including teaching, painting restoration and journalism, I enrolled in the well-respected Landscape Gardening program offered by Sandhills Community College in Southern Pines, North Carolina. After completing an internship at historic Dumbarton Oaks in Georgetown, VA, I received my Associate in Applied Sciences (AAS) and have been working on landscape designs ever since!

- Domestic and international travel to experience remarkable gardens first-hand
- Indoor/outdoor entertaining and constantly reinventing my own garden
